A downloadable Unity Script

Download NowName your own price

A very simple script to create UI panels with 100% opacity instead of 50%.

Why did I create this script?

I don't know about anyone else, but it always bugs me when the default UI panel loads with 50% opacity.

Why does it do that? Who knows?

So this script changes creates a new Panel Variant called "Opaque Panel" in the UI (Canvas) menu, with the Image opacity set to full.

It's also fully annotated, in case you're wondering how it works.

And yes, I will do literally anything to save myself 10 seconds of extra work!

How to use?

This is an Editor script, so it goes in an Editor folder inside your project. I keep all my Editor scripts in "Scripts/Editor".

Then it's as simple as right-clicking in the Hierarchy, and going to UI (Canvas)>Opaque Panel.

Presto, you have created an Opaque Panel with the Image at full opacity!
